The Holy Spirit vs. Eschatologists

“But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth; for He will not speak on His own initiative, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come,” John 16:13.

Even knowing the Holy Spirit will disclose to us what is to come, there are so-called eschatologists running around like chickens with their heads cut off using their own understanding and imaginations, trying to predict the future. What a waste; what a disservice to the children of God!

The Son of God Himself told us the Holy Spirit will disclose to us what is to come, but eschatologists apparently think they are more savvy than the Holy Spirit. Either that, or they don’t want to wait on Him to let them know what’s going to happen, so they take it upon themselves to lean on their own understanding, and form their own opinions.

At the very least, they have either ignored, or redacted, the Scriptures that say, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight,” Proverbs 3:5,6.

We are to follow Jesus, not man.
