Will Jesus know you?

Matthew 7:21-23,

21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter.

22 “Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?’

23 “And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; DEPART FROM ME, YOU WHO PRACTICE LAWLESSNESS.’”

These verses show that prophesying, casting out demons, and performing miracles is not proof of being a child of God. For many are called, but few are chosen. The chosen are those who submit to Lord’s authority and learn obedience from the things which they suffer. All others practice lawlessness.

Matthew 22:14,

14 “For many are called, but few are chosen.”

Hebrews 12:4-8,

4 You have not yet resisted to the point of shedding blood in your striving against sin;

5 and you have forgotten the exhortation which is addressed to you as sons, “MY SON, DO NOT REGARD LIGHTLY THE DISCIPLINE OF THE LORD, NOR FAINT WHEN YOU ARE REPROVED BY HIM.

6 FOR THOSE WHOM THE LORD LOVES HE DISCIPLINES, AND HE SCOURGES EVERY SON WHOM HE RECEIVES.”

7 It is for discipline that you endure; God deals with you as with sons; for what son is there whom his father does not discipline?

8 But if you are without discipline, of which all have become partakers, then you are illegitimate children and not sons.

1 Peter 2:21,

21 For you have been called for this purpose, since Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example for you to follow in His steps…

Again, many are called, but few are chosen.The chosen are those who submit to Lord’s authority and learn obedience from the things which they suffer. All others practice lawlessness.
