The First-Born of All Creation

John 1:1-3,

1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

2 This one was in the beginning with God.

3 All things came into being by Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being.

Adam was created in the image of God and given an adult body of flesh and blood. He was given a wife and placed in a garden of paradise where there was no suffering whatsoever, and therefore did not learn obedience. His wife subsequently was deceived by the serpent and sinned. Adam listened to her, and he also sinned. Adam was the first son of God, Luke 3:38.

God removed Adam and Eve from the garden and placed them on soil which had become cursed because of Adam’s sin. Since that day women have had intense pain in childbirth and men have lived by the sweat of their brow. Not only this, but every child born thereafter was conceived in sin and brought forth in iniquity because of the sin that dwelt within Adam and Eve.

John 1:14,

14 And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth.

Jesus was the first child on earth who was not conceived in sin, and brought forth in iniquity. He was born into the creation, not of the creation. Adam was the first son of God, Luke 3:38, but he was not born, he was created in the image of God. Jesus was not created, He is the image of the invisible God, the first-born of all creation. He is the only begotten Son of God, the first-born of God. The Word, who was with God and who was God in the beginning of the creation, became flesh and dwelt among us.

Colossians 1:15-17,

15 And He is the image of the invisible God, the first-born of all creation.

16 For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things have been created by Him and for Him.

17 And He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.

Glory to God. The Word became flesh and dwelt among us, God’s first-born of all creation, came as an infant, was trained up in the way He should go, and learned obedience through that which He suffered. After living a life in total obedience to God, He became the perfect sacrifice for our sins, and the perfect Savior for our souls, and the author and perfecter of our faith.

God highly exalted His Son, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every other name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those who are in heaven, and on earth, and under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father, Philippians 2:9-11.

God also made Jesus the head of the body, the church; and He is the beginning, the first-born from the dead, so that He Himself will come to have first place in everything, Colossians 1:18.

Dear ones, our most beloved Savior carried us within Himself on the cross, so that our sinful flesh would be crucified with Him, and buried with Him through baptism, that our souls might be raised up with Him into newness of life in the Spirit of our risen Savior, and placed in His new heavenly body, the church. Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come, 2 Corinthians 5:17.

Oh, the riches of the glory of the mystery of God, which is Christ in us. Because Christ is in us, the will of God can now be fulfilled even while in our earthly bodies. For having encountered everything we now encounter, and overcoming them, He is now able to come to our aid, a perfect Savior, having been tested and tried, even unto death. Through Him God is now able to make a way of escape for every temptation known to man.

Behold, what manner of love the Father has bestowed upon us, that we should be called children of God, 1 John 3:1.

Jesus once said, “You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; it is these that testify about Me,” John 5:39. The word of God testifies about Jesus because He is the Word.

And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth.

For in Him all the fulness of Deity dwells in bodily form, and in Him you have been made complete, and He is the head over all rule and authority, Colossians 2:9, 10.

At the end of His ministry on earth, the Father gave Jesus all authority in heaven and on earth, and subjected all things to the Son. The Son now sits at the right hand of the Father, and will remain there until the last enemy has been conquered, that is, death. And then comes the end, when He hands over the kingdom to the God and Father, when He has abolished all rule and all authority and power, 1 Corinthians 15:24.

At that time, the Son will once again subject Himself to the Father, just as it is written, “When all things are subjected to Him, the Son Himself will be subjected to the One who subjected all things to Him, so that God may be all in all,” 1 Corinthians 15:28. Thus God will be the head of Christ, and Christ will be the head of His bride, just as it was with God and His first son, Adam.

There is one body and one Spirit, just as also you were called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all who is over all and through all and in all, Ephesians 4:4-6.

Adam was created as an adult; Jesus came as an infant and grew to maturity, without sin and pleasing God the Father. He was crucified, buried, and raised from the dead. He then became a life-giving spirit, giving life through the Holy Spirit to all who believe in Him. So also it is written, “The first MAN, Adam, BECAME A LIVING SOUL.” The last Adam became a life-giving spirit, 1 Corinthians 15:45.

The new creation, His body, the church, was born an infant, and is being raised up in the way it should go, learning obedience from the things which it suffers, until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature man, to the measure of the stature which belongs to the fulness of Christ; after which we will be taken from His body and fashioned into His bride.

Please weigh everything I say on the scales of the word of God.
