The Temple of God

After Solomon built a temple for the Lord God, He (God) said in 2 Chronicles 7:15-16, “Now My eyes shall be open and My ears attentive to the prayer offered in this place. For now I have chosen and concentrated this house that My name may be there forever, and My eyes and My heart will be there perpetually.”

In 2 Corinthians 6:16 the word says, “For we are the temple of the living God; just as God said, ‘I will dwell in them and walk among them; And I will be their God, and they shall be My people.’” My friends, we have been chosen and concentrated just like the temple Solomon built.

It is God who chose us and consecrated us that we might be with Him forever. And He sent Jesus to tear apart the veil of the temple that we might enter in. And He did so by the shedding of His blood and the breaking of His body. What a glorious Savior; what a loving and merciful Savior; the Father wanted us to spend eternity with Him, and Jesus offered up Himself to make that happen. And now God’s name and His eyes and His heart are within us perpetually, and His eyes are open and His ears are attentive to our prayers, for we are now His temple.

May we continually offer our thanks and our praise to both the Father and the Son, who have shown us love beyond comprehension. May we strive to do the will of God for ourselves, as Jesus did for Himself. May each of us always be a holy temple of our God and Father. To Him be glory forever.
