Hebrews 11:6, “And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.” From this verse we see that faith is not only the substance of things hoped for, and the evidence of things not seen, it is also believing that God is, and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.
One must first believe that God is, and that He rewards those who seek Him. These two beliefs are the basis on which faith stands. Without believing that God is, there is nothing to place our faith in. And without believing that He rewards those who seek Him, there is no reason to expect an answer for any prayer. But believing that God is and that He rewards those who seek Him lends tremendous credence to having the substance of something hoped for and the evidence of things not seen.
If one believes God exists and that He rewards those who seek Him, believing we have the substance of things hoped for, and the evidence of things not seen is a given. Think about it, “He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how will He not also with Him freely give us all things? Who will bring a charge against God’s elect? God is the One who justifies; who is the one who condemns? Christ Jesus is He who died, yes, rather who was raised, who is at the right hand of God, who also intercedes for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?” Romans 8:32-35a.
