What I am about to say is in no way meant to accuse anyone of anything. I am saying this purely for the purpose of helping those who can accept what I am saying.
The word ‘claim’ is a legalistic term that means to demand what we think is rightfully ours.
We have been freed from the Law by our having been crucified with Jesus and raised up into newness of life. Why would we go back to legalistic practices to receive something from God when Jesus said all we have to do is abide in Him and ask for what we want, and we will have it?
It seems to me that using legalistic maneuvers to attain what comes by faith might be an affront to God.
I know this may sound like nothing, but there is a big difference in claiming a promise of God and trusting in God’s integrity to do what He promised.
Again, I mean no ill toward anyone. I am just trying to help. I have seen our Father do many things and not one of them was done by claiming or authority. Everything I’ve seen Him do has been done by faith in the name of Jesus. See Acts 3:16.
