Preaching Satan and Calling Him Jesus
I was nearly brought to tears recently when I heard someone preach that in the beginning, God spoke words to create things, “Let there be light,” etc., and then referred to Ephesians 5:1, which begins with, “Be imitators of God…”, and taking it out of context, said we are supposed to imitate God and speak things into existence. He also took the first part of Proverbs 18:21 out of context, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue…” and used it to prove his point. He was not speaking metaphorically; he was speaking literally. He was telling people who had gathered to worship and learn from God that they should raise themselves to God’s level and be like God. I’m so grateful the Lord’s sheep will not follow a stranger but will flee from him because they do not know the voice of strangers, John 10:5.
You don’t have to join a satanic cult to follow Satan; you can follow the doctrines of many of today’s preachers and be smack-dab in the middle of the will of Satan and call him Jesus while you’re there. These reprobates preach the very things Satan spoke to Eve and Jesus — you don’t have to listen to God; you can know good and evil just like God does;” and to Jesus, he said, “If you are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread.” Likewise, they tell us, “If you are children of God, you don’t have to wait for anything; you can take authority and make the promises come true all by yourself,” They also say that using your authority and taking control of your circumstances is fighting the good fight of faith.
The devil’s end game for Eve, Jesus, and all mankind has always been to have men and women to either believe that God doesn’t exist or to bypass Him and exalt themselves to His level. An example is the word of faith movement and several non-denominational churches that preach that Christians are given the authority of Christ and need only claim and exercise that authority. They are preaching Satan and calling him Jesus. They are expanding on the goal of Satan and passing it off as gospel. Beware of what you accept as truth.
Do you doubt what I’m saying? Consider what Peter told the crowd that had gathered after the lame man at the temple gate had been healed. Peter told them he had been healed by faith in the name of Jesus. He didn’t say the man was healed by any authority he had. He told him to be healed and he was healed through faith in the One who has received all authority in heaven and on earth, Acts 3:16. Peter spoke through faith, not through authority.
My friends, I have never known of any person, other than Jesus, who has been given all authority in heaven and on earth. Jesus was given this authority because He had completed His ministry in an exemplary way. Who among us can say we have done the same?
